At Capcom Next Summer 2024, it was confirmed that Resident Evil 9 is in development and is being fronted by Resident Evil 7’s Koshi Nakanishi.

With much murmuring and rumors bubbling about what’s going on with the survival horror juggernaut’s next entry, Nakanishi himself confirmed he’s heading up Resident Evil 9. However, he wasn’t too keen to give much away at this time.

”We’re making a new Resident Evil,” Nakanishi said towards the end of the Capcom Next showcase. “It was really difficult to figure out what to do after (Resident Evil 7). But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.”

That’s about all we have regarding Resident Evil 9. Speculation about potential settings, characters, time periods, and more will undoubtedly continue. There had been murmurings of an open-world entry with Capcom utilizing what it has learned from Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds.

Nakanishi has plenty of Resi experience besides Resident Evil 7. He was a designer on Resident Evil 5 and directed Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and Revelations.

Resident Evil 9 will have big shoes to fill after the staggering success of Village. The eighth entry sold 10 million units quicker than any other game in the series to date.

It’s been reported that while Capcom continues to look to the future, more remakes are incoming. Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica are allegedly getting the remake treatment next after successful remakes of the original four games over the years.

Capcom‘s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has a confirmed release date, and both a digital and physical edition are planned.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will hit PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on September 19, 2024, in digital form. A physical release will arrive sometime in November 2024. A Digital Deluxe edition will bring a horde of costumes and background music options based on classic Capcom franchises such as Resident Evil, Mega Man, and Street Fighter.

The updated version of the 2006 classic features improved visuals, controls, and an autosave function.

If you pre-order the game, you’ll earn yourself a classic 2006 Frank West costume. Just in case the new version doesn’t do it for you.

Kruger & Flint’s hardcore throwback shooter Bloodhound has spilled onto PlayStation consoles in all its gory glory.

In Bloodhound, the player takes on the role of a member of a secret faction of the Templar order, which must stop the demonic cult of the devilish Astaroth.

The gameplay refers to classic games, focusing primarily on dynamics and a high level of brutality. The creators point to inspiration from old shooters such as Doom, Quake and Painkiller. The style of the game mainly refers to various apocalyptic motifs.

In July 2023, the game debuted on PC, and later also received a free expansion – Juicy Retro Style!, thanks to which Bloodhound becomes a pixel boomer shooter. The update also improved gunplay and introduced additional story inserts. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions also include this DLC.

FromSoftware’s epic RPG goes from strength to strength as Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree hits a staggering sales figure in just a few days.

Shadow of the Erdtree takes Elden Ring to new heights

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced that Shadow of the Erdtree had sold five million units within its first three days of release.

This comes after the Elden Ring expansion became the highest-rated DLC of all time on Metacritic. Elden Ring alone was doing some fantastic numbers, but the chunky expansion is clearly bringing plenty back to the Lands Between.

Not that it’s all been sweetness and light for the expansion. Earlier this week, FromSoftware released Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC update 1.12.2 for “balance” and “calibration” following widespread complaints about the expansion’s difficulty. An official statement also addresses visual issues on PC after the expansion ended up being review bombed on Steam for its performance and difficulty spike.

FromSoftware is also working on further balance adjustments and bug fixes, which will be rolled out in a future patch. Release window will be shared in due course.

Dead by Daylight spinoff The Casting of Frank Stone may have had its release date revealed, according to a supposed leak.

A post on the leaksDBD subreddit shows that the Supermassive Games title will be released on September 3, 2024. The game will also be hyped up within Dead by Daylight.

The leak also includes a QR code for a “Buy Now” page, but it is currently offline. The message featured in the leak reads as follows.

“Step out of The Fog and experience a never-before-seen side of Dead by Daylight with The Casting of Frank Stone, available September 3. Decide the fate of four friends in the summer of 1980, and guide their shoot of Murder Mill, a soon-to-be cult classic with an insidious influence.”

Capcom has announced the date of its Capcom Next Summer 2024 broadcast, which will feature the recently announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

The second remaster of the 2006 zombie-smashing classic was revealed yesterday. A trailer teased a significant visual overhaul this time around. you can take a look at the trailer below.

The Capcom next Summer 2024 broadcast will be live on July 1, 2024, at 3 PM PT/ 6 PM ET. It’s set to run for 25 minutes and will also feature news on Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and the iOS/Mac versions of Resident Evil 7.

We know very little about the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster outside that brief tease. Hopefully, Capcom’s next broadcast will reveal just what kind of remaster this is going to be. And hey, a release date would be nice, especially if it’s sooner rather than later.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will arrive on PS4 and PS5 on July 19, 2024, so this will likely be the last good look at Capcom’s action strategy game before launch.

UFC fighter and occasional movie star Conor McGregor is in Agent 47’s sights as he becomes a celebrity Elusive Target in Hitman World of Assassination.

From today until July 29, 2024, Hitman players can attempt to take out the Irish warrior as he headlines the game’s Season of the Disruptor summer roadmap.

McGregor joins actor Sean Bean in challenging Hitman players to kill them off. The outspoken brawler is a really interesting celebrity target. As an elusive Target, Hitman players will need to be careful, though. In an elusive Target mission, there’s just one shot at taking out McGregor, and with no saves, every move must be calculated.

IO Interactive promises this is an Elusive Target like no other. No doubt half the fun will be finding out why. It’s available to play for free during the time it’s active, so if you fancy dipping into Hitman just to see if you can take on a former UFC champion, here’s your chance.

There’s also a premium The Disruptor Pack, which contains some McGregor-themed goodies for 47, including a fancy fur coat outfit.

Alongside the high-profile target, IO Interactive has laid out its Summer plans for Hitman. There are fresh challenges, a new event, other elusive targets, curated contracts, and a Twitch exclusive purple briefcase to acquire.

The First Descendant will be released on PS4 and PS5 next week, so Nexon Games has launched fresh trailers and details of the PS5 version’s perks.

The First Descendant is a third-person online co-op looter shooter. In the game, players will become a Descendant, inheriting mysterious powers and tasked with protecting their homeland – the continent of Ingris – from alien invaders.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, The First Descendant is a next-generation looter shooter that focuses on the fun of grinding and growth. It’s a game where you collect and enhance various characters, unique-effect firearms, external components that boost character and skill performance, and modules to tune the performance of characters and weapons, presenting you with the challenge of creating your own unique build.

At launch, five new fields that have not been previously revealed will be added, along with 16 types of new end-game content called Instance Dungeons. Additionally, 16 types of Void Intercept Battles – large boss raids considered the highlight of The First Descendant – will also be introduced.

Additionally, Descendants, who are central to the game, will be added. In total, 19 Descendants will be introduced, including 14 original Descendants and 5 high-performance versions known as Ultimate Descendants.

PS5 Graphical features

 Additionally, we are pleased to introduce the graphical features available at launch for the first time, specifically for PS5. Since last year’s Crossplay Open Beta, we have invested significant effort into optimizing and enhancing graphic quality for PS5.

Firstly, we added a Balanced Mode to the graphics settings, which was unavailable during the Beta.  PS5 users can now choose from three modes: Fidelity, Balanced, and Performance, offering a variety of options to suit your preferences.

 Additionally, we have implemented the high-resolution shadow mapping technique, Virtual Shadow Map (VSM), provided by Unreal Engine 5 after extensive optimization efforts, enhancing the overall visual quality.

Furthermore, we added options for Ray Tracing and AMD Frame Generation, offering choices for those who desire higher visual quality or improved performance.
